Fenwick Island occupies the southernmost stretch of Delaware's Atlantic coastline at the Maryland state line. The beach is wide, soft, and uncrowded, with undisturbed dune lines. The 87-foot Fenwick Island Lighthouse, completed in 1858, is the oldest lighthouse in Delaware. Fenwick Island State Park adds wild dunes and bay-side access to the Little Assawoman Bay.
The Atmosphere
Fenwick is the quietest of the Quiet Resorts. There's a gentle, end-of-the-road quality that makes it feel removed from the busier towns to the north. Even in peak summer, the beaches feel spacious and calm.
