Portraits In The Sand

Fenwick Island Delaware Portrait Photographer

Delaware's Southernmost Beach

The Landscape & Scenery for Family Portraits

Fenwick Island occupies the southernmost stretch of Delaware's Atlantic coastline at the Maryland state line. The beach is wide, soft, and uncrowded, with undisturbed dune lines. The 87-foot Fenwick Island Lighthouse, completed in 1858, is the oldest lighthouse in Delaware. Fenwick Island State Park adds wild dunes and bay-side access to the Little Assawoman Bay.

The Atmosphere

Fenwick is the quietest of the Quiet Resorts. There's a gentle, end-of-the-road quality that makes it feel removed from the busier towns to the north. Even in peak summer, the beaches feel spacious and calm.

What Distinguishes Fenwick

Fenwick carries a sense of being at the edge of things, where the coast narrows, the crowds thin, and the light gets warmer. It's both familiar and timeless, a natural fit for heirloom family portraits.
